The box sat there, practically vibrating with anticipation on my desk. It arrived at 1:30 PM, right in the middle of a workday. If I’m honest, it took every ounce of willpower not to rip it open immediately. But I made myself wait. I wanted to give this new device the proper welcome it deserved, a true unboxing experience for all of you! This isn’t just a phone; it’s the Pixel 10 Pro, and after weeks of anticipation, it’s finally here.

Holding that box, though, was a bittersweet moment. Because while one era was beginning, another was ending. My trusty Pixel 8 Pro was a device that captured countless memories. It preserved my culinary creations and serene hiking trails. Now, it was destined for a new home as my trade-in. It honestly felt a little like saying goodbye to an old friend.
But enough sentimentality for today! You’re here for the new hotness, the Pixel 10 Pro review, and I’m thrilled to share my very first impressions.

The Unboxing: A Glimpse of the Future
There’s something incredibly satisfying about peeling back those paper pull tabs and lifting the lid on a brand-new phone. Google has done a good job with the quality of the packaging itself. The box is solid. However, the contents are a little disappointing. Inside, all you’ll find are the phone, a small information packet, and the charging cable. No power brick or SIM ejector tool. The lack of accessories made me pause. I thought back to a time when phones cost half as much. You even got wired headphones in the box.
Holding the Pixel 10 Pro itself, it felt substantial yet refined. The glossy metal sides, while a fingerprint magnet, also felt surprisingly grippy, which should help prevent drops. Still, this phone is going straight into a case with a screen protector, so it’s not a big deal for me. The design is sleek, similar to the 9 Pro, and the new camera bar has a distinct elegance to it. I do wish the sides had a matte finish instead of the glossy one. The power button and volume rocker are positioned slightly lower on the side, and the volume rocker is noticeably smaller.
The screen looks fantastic, even though I’ve only been looking at it during the setup process. It got a little warm during that initial setup, but that’s to be expected. The eSIM activation, by the way, was a breeze, it went a whole lot smoother than I thought it would.

My First Thoughts on the Pixel 10 Pro
Honestly, my initial reaction was pure excitement. The phone feels premium, and I can’t wait to dive into everything it offers. I’m particularly keen to put the Pixel 10 Pro camera to the test. I was a chef before, and I love hiking. I rely heavily on my phone to capture intricate details of a plated dish. It also helps me capture the expansive beauty of nature. I’ve already got some ideas for photo shoots to truly push its limits.
The Pixel 10 Pro battery life is one of the biggest questions on my mind. I’m sure it’s on yours too. The Pixel 8 Pro was a solid performer. With the rumored enhancements of the new Google Tensor G5 chip, I’m optimistic for even better endurance. I also know from past experience that it can take about a week for the phone to optimize its battery usage, so I’m prepared for that.
For now, I’m just soaking in the newness of it all. I’ll be spending the next few days over the holiday thoroughly testing the Pixel 10 Pro. I’ll be back soon with more in-depth insights. These insights will include plenty of Pixel 10 Pro photo samples!
What feature are you most excited to try on the Pixel 10 Pro? Or, if you’ve already got one, what’s been your favorite discovery so far? Let me know in the comments! I’d also love to hear what phone you are currently using as your daily driver.
