Pixel 10 Pro Food Photography: An Amateur’s Take

I’ve always enjoyed taking photos of food, and I decided to put my new Pixel 10 Pro to the test. As an amateur, I’m always learning, and this experiment was full of great lessons—and a few surprises.

For breakfast, I made an omelet with some fried potatoes and roasted veggies. I seasoned the asparagus, onions, and red bell peppers with a rub from my friends at #TheDelicious. It’s actually meant for steaks, but it gave the veggies a fantastic kick with garlic, coriander, black pepper, and chili flake. The food tasted amazing, and the photos turned out pretty well, even though I struggled with the focus. I think that was on me—no tripod, so a little camera shake was probably the culprit.

I’ve noticed something across all my shots. The Pixel 10 Pro seems to have a warm, yellowish tint. It’s a distinct look. I’m not sure if it’s a setting I can change. It might just be the way the camera is.

Later that day, I made a creamy mushroom risotto with shallots, onions, and garlic. I finished it with parmesan and Romano cheese. I also had a side of sautéed asparagus. The same yellowing issue popped up in these photos, and the phone seemed to want to focus on the plate instead of the risotto itself. Despite the challenges, I still love how the pictures turned out.

I’m really impressed with the detail and clarity this camera can capture. It’s clear that with a little more practice and maybe a few tweaks to the settings, I can get some truly amazing food shots.

What are your thoughts? I’d love to see some of your food photography and hear what phone you’re using as your daily driver! Drop a comment below with your tips!
